I am a graduate of the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, where I specialized in Management Information Systems and Analytics. Throughout my four years in University, I continuously sought opportunities to develop new skills in business and technology. Specifically, I've focused my energy on building expertise in product design, project management, and analytics. I have concluded internships in the public, private, not-for-profit, and start-up sectors, during which I have gained a good understanding of how businesses of all types operate.
Post-graduation, I am bringing my love for problem-solving to Accenture as part of its Consulting Development Program!
Product design is about creating something that achieves the goals of an organization and its customers. This includes making the product valuable, pleasant, and easy to use. I've had the opportunity to lead a design thinking exercise in a professional setting and I am completing the User Experience Research and Design specialization from the University of Michigan.
Project management is both an art and science. You have to be adaptable to situations and understand the strengths and weaknesses of your team. At the same time, a good PM leverages defined frameworks and is data-driven. I have multiple years of experience working in Scrum teams and responding to delivery challenges at all levels.
We're in a data-driven economy. Companies like Amazon and Netflix have proven the importance of informing decisions with prescriptive analytics. Therefore I believe all business students must understand the potential of this field. I've learned the fundamentals of simulation, forecasting analytics and data mining. I've supplemented this learning by completing the IBM Data Science Professional Certificate.
“Alexis is the brightest, most helpful, most committed and friendly young person I have ever met. During the summer we worked together, he made massive contributions to the organization and facilitation of our team's initiatives: these included a series of workshops and focus groups on the future of technology at EDC, as well as two SAFe ART train planning sessions. His grasp of both the tactical activities required to execute these events as well as his thoughtful perspectives on their content and approach were instrumental to the success of these events. I would jump at the chance to work with Alexis again and look forward to following his stellar career.”
